Civil aviation general manager Ali Arıduru declared that the plane which crashed had diverged from its route out of necessity. Arıduru said: “We need to wait for the deciphering of the black box.”
Civil aviation general manager Ali Arıduru confirmed that the plane which crashed and caused the death of 57 people diverged from its route out of necessity. Referring to a question that the pilot may have preferred the shorter route in order to save 4.5 minutes, Aliduru said: “we do not have the privilege to comment. We are accessing the tangible evidence and sharing them with the public.” The first findings about the plane crash are: “the meteorological situation was normal. There was no problem in the plane’s communication with the air traffic units up until the crash. The engines were active until the crash. Nothing has been found as to point to a fire or sabotage on the plane.”
On the coattails of Avantair’s carbon offset announcement, fractional ownership jet provider, NetJets Europe, just announced a major eco-travel initiative. In addition to regular membership costs, all new and existing private jet clients will be required to pay around €4,000 per year to offset their carbon footprints.
An additional move announced by NetJets is to fund Princeton University’s Carbon Mitigation Initiative, which investigates green jet fuel technologies for commercial and private jet use. Oxford-based EcoSecurities will oversee NetJets’ carbon offsetting and emission reduction programs.

BRUSSELS (Thomson Financial) – The European Commission has urged Moscow to address accusations of electoral irregularities surrounding Russia’s weekend legislative polls, which were won by President Vladimir Putin’s party.
‘Everybody is aware that observers have denounced irregularities,’ said Johannes Laitenberger, spokesman for the EU’s executive arm.
‘It is in the interest of Russia to completely clarify all these allegations,’ he told reporters in Brussels.
Independent Russian monitoring body Golos has echoed international criticism of Sunday’s parliamentary elections.
The director of Western-funded Golos, which managed to circumvent a ban on domestic independent observers by deploying thousands of journalists, strongly criticised the conduct of Sunday’s polls. Read more
